Jean Ann Heffernan

Jean Ann Heffernan, 82, died peacefully at home on Tybee Island, Ga. Wednesday, August 7th.
Born in Savannah, she was the daughter of Lovick and Mary Toshack Stalvey. She and her late husband, Dr. Joseph Anthony Heffernan, Jr., raised five children in the Catholic faith of St. James Parrish: Nancy Ann, Joseph Anthony III May, Mark Steven Justine, John Jeffrey and Gregory Stewart.
A graduate of St. Vincent's Academy in 1945, she was a wonderful mother and devoted to her husband, Tony.
She will be missed by many.
Her grandchildren, so precious to her, are Katherine and Anna Mothersbaugh, daughters of Nancy; Ainslee and Tait, children of Joe and May; Ishar Nicole, daughter of Mark and Justine. She was preceded in death by her husband, her son John, and grandchildren Ethan and Liam, sons of Mark and Justine.
She survived by one sister, Betty Sutlive Dr. William Green Sutlive. In lieu of flowers, please remember the kindness that we have received for many years from Hospice, Savannah. They are angels on earth.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, August 12, 2013 at St. Michael's Catholic Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Bonaventure Cemetery.
